Exhibition Prep!

Exhibition preparation is well and truly underway. I won't reveal the pieces I have chosen to exhibit until the show opens on the 4th June. So keep checking back! 

In the meantime here are something a little different. I got rather inspired by Jon Klassen's work and I attempted to create a piece influenced by his work. I don't think its nearly as amazing as his but I thought I should give it a try. I think I shall leave this method to the pro though. I will stick to my good old watercolours :)

I had a rather interesting day today, I went to a Jon Klassen book signing with a friend. He wrote and illustrated 'I want my hat back.' Defiantly worth checking his work out, very inspiring.

I thought I would share a couple of the character development pages from my final major project today.

Now I no longer have any of my final major project for peeps to see, I thought I should share some more past projects that I have done. 

This one was to design a child's growing chart, the theme was the Amazon rainforest.

Finally completed the last illustration for my children's book yesterday. Today will be spent putting it all together.

Step By Step - Picture Book Update

These are the illustrations I have managed to get done yesterday.

I though maybe a step by step thingy was in order. 

First stage, all penciled and the sky painted. 

Second stage, green trees in the background, vine and part of the bird painted. 

Third stage, one wing, beak and part of the tail painted. 

Final stage, other wing, eye and tail painted!

Update on final major project. This weekend I managed to draw out seven more illustrations ready to be water coloured. I have also managed to get 3 more coloured. Another seven illustrations to go.
