My Brother's Final Year College Exhibition ~ Photography and Art

I feel like such a proud sister at the moment. A couple evenings ago I went to see my brother, William McCleland's College final year exhibition.

There was lots of talented young artists and photographers exhibiting there work that evening. Everything was finished to a very high standard.

I really loved my brothers work, maybe I am biased.
Would really appreciate if you went and checked his work out ~ https://www.flickr.com/photos/98685846@N05/with/13915350352/

Here are some pictures

Big thank you to all the visitors and to everyone who took part and got involved.

Project in progress *Updated*

I've just chosen my next project at uni, this project has a nature theme. To help me get the creative juices flowing I've started painting landscape pictures using my usual media: watercolour. This is just an example of my process I go through when I paint.

Edit: Here is the final stages of  the landscape painting

*NEW* ~ Some Personal work ~ Christmas Gifts

Being a student it's rather difficult to afford to buy gifts for friends. So for Christmas I just decided to create personal illustration gifts instead. Enjoy :)

*NEW* ~ Print Pattern Project

This is a new piece I created for a University project brief, which was to design a new print pattern using the maximum of 12 colours and in three colour ways.
The theme had to include british nostalgia. In the end I chose to focus on afternoon tea, the Queen's Corgi's and white rabbits (from the old saying 'white rabbits' said at the beginning of every month).

Unsung Heroes & Heroines Project *New*

Recent uni project on unsung heroes and heroines. Things, people, objects we take for granted that don't or didn't get the recognition they deserve. I chose to focus on animals from the war. I then narrowed it down to looking at six pigeons that served in the Second World War. Form this I produced a writing set that consists of the six post cards, six envelopes and six sheets of writing paper and having the pigeons as the main theme all the way through.

Six carrier pigeon postcards

*New* Unsung heroes and heroines projects *Pigeons*

I've currently been working on a Uni brief on Unsung heroes and heroines. I chose to focus on the animals that lent their services during the 1st and 2nd World War.

*New* Quote inspiration

This piece is a little different to what I usually choose to illustrate. I stubbled across a quote that sparked an image in my head and I just had to sketch some thumb nails down on paper before the idea escaped me. So here it is, I suppose its kind of a self portrait based piece as well.

The original piece was created in pencil and later scanned into photoshop.

*NEW* ~ Thank you! Portrait

I can finally, finally share this with you. After my two year illustration course I wanted to thank my tutor Alan Baker for being amazing!
So a group of us band together to create a book with our work in. The idea was to use the same subject, which was Alan. It was nice to see what we all produced by the deadline. A nice variety of styles.

And this was my contribution! Thank you Alan!
